derek beaulieu is the author of 4 books, the most recent, Chains is a collection of letraset visual poems. Continuously pushing the boundaries and restrictions of the regular life of the twenty-six letters of the alphabet, beaulieu's work underscores the playfulness of language and challenges the way readers have come to expect letters to behave. Using techniques that combine graphic design, fine art and experimental writing, beaulieu opens up new ways of approaching and interpreting poetry. Author, editor, publisher, translator, illustrator and sessional instructor at the University of Calgary, derek beaulieu has been published and exhibited internationally.

Old School update
Wow! The response to this call for participants has been amazing. Dozens of people have responded and I'm still getting more emails. I will respond to each of you individually, but it may take a few days. The inspiration packs will be sent out for early May.

Call for submissions
Mike and Renata suggested "Little Critters" as the theme for April, so we are looking for submissions. Send us a link or a jpg of your little critter – whether an illustration or sewn toy or other, by this coming Monday. This is a quick impromptu exhibition - the show goes up April 1st! More details on request.
Here are some fantastic creatures by Darling Clementine out of Norway. These are greeting cards that I will be ordering for the shop, and hopefully will arrive in time for the Little Critters show.
Suggestions? Ideas? Proposals?
Yesterday was great - thanks to everyone who visited, left comments, sent emails and wished us well.
Over the next month, I will be incredibly busy with Work/Life (the latest UPPERCASE publication in the works) and some client projects (yes, I know I said I wasn't going to take on as many, but I just can't say no to a good job... expecially when a trip to New York City and the National Stationery Show is in the works!) This busy schedule has left me without any time to plan a gallery show for the month of April. So I am sending the call out for help.
Ideas, anyone?
At Home with William Shatner

Mackenzie sent me this great photo showing Mark Gervais' Shatner Show piece in their home. It would be fun to see where the other Shatners have landed... if you purchased The Shatner Show artwork or book, send me a digital photo of how you live with Shatner and I'll post it online in March in honour of Bill's 77th birthday.
