    AARON LEIGHTON

    A transplanted prairie boy now living in Toronto, Aaron studied illustration and design at ACAD. Both whimsical and weird, Aaron’s work is based on obsession with line and is inspired by elements such as graffiti, cartoons and tribal art. He enjoys the fact that despite what his grade 11 algebra teacher said, doodling in class did indeed pay off.

    LISA BRAWN

    Lisa’s woodcut series World of Monsters is inspired by mythological creatures, fabulous medieval bestiaries, 19th century carnival creations and the contemporary wonder and horror of genetic engineering. These hybrids are based on collaged animals, fish, birds, reptiles, and insects from a collection of 1975 wildlife encyclopedia flashcards, along with purely fanciful embellishments.

    Kipling West has illustrated 8 books, curated 16 art shows, and designed a few toys. Her art has been exhibited in Seattle, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Chicago, Austin, Annapolis, Boston, Calgary and Vancouver. Currently she is working on a couple of book proposals in her cold, cold studioin Calgary, Alberta.

    Carolyn Fisher grew up in Southern Alberta farm with a cow, a cat, a dog, a duck, three chickens, and a pig. Each day she shouted “Yippety-yodle-eye-hay!” when she finished her chores. A gust of wind blew her to Calgary where she lives with her husband Steve. She wrote and illustrated the popular children’s book, A Twisted Tale.
